GUIDED NZ RENTALS
COMPLETE HEALTH & SAFETY MANUAL
Our Commitment to Your Safety | Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
1. H&S COMMITMENT
Guided NZ Rentals is committed to safe vehicles and operating procedures. We comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 to minimise all risks.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
Management: Maintain safe systems. Staff: Perform inspections. Customers: Follow NZ road rules and report incidents.
3. VEHICLE SAFETY
All vehicles are serviced to schedule, maintain valid WOF, and checked for tyres, brakes, and seatbelts. Unsafe vehicles are removed immediately.
4. PRE-RENTAL CHECK
Before each rental, we verify: tyre pressure, fuel level, dashboard lights, seatbelts, and overall vehicle condition with photo records.
5. WEATHER & ALPINE SAFETY
Alpine weather changes rapidly. Be aware of black ice, fog, and strong winds. Adjust speed to conditions; snow chains may be legally required.
6. NZ ROAD CONDITIONS
NZ roads feature narrow highways, steep passes, and single-lane bridges. Drivers must reduce speed on gravel and unfamiliar rural roads.
7. QUEENSTOWN WINTER
Winter risks: snow, hidden ice, and freezing temperatures. Allow extra stopping distance and follow all official chain-control instructions.
8 & 9. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Accident: Stop safely, check for injuries, call 111, and notify us. Breakdown: Pull over, hazards on, and contact us immediately.
10. DRUG & ALCOHOL POLICY
Driving under the influence or while fatigued is strictly prohibited. Violation voids all insurance and your rental agreement instantly.
11. INCIDENT REPORTING
All accidents, breakdowns, near-misses, and safety concerns must be reported. We maintain these records for continuous improvement.
12. LEGAL COMPLIANCE
Guided NZ follows the Work Act 2015. We identify hazards, assess risks, and monitor incidents. Safety breach may result in rental termination.
13. EMERGENCY CONTACT
Emergency Services: Dial 111
