Guided NZ Car Rentals — Agreement & Protection Terms

Rental Parties

This agreement is between Guided NZ Car Rentals (“Owner”) and the named Renter. By signing, the Renter accepts all terms, inspection records, and responsibilities.

Vehicle Condition & Inspection

The renter confirms the vehicle condition, mileage, and damage photos recorded at pickup are accurate. Any new damage during rental is the renter’s responsibility unless proven otherwise.

Driver Requirements

Only listed drivers may operate the vehicle. Drivers must hold a valid licence recognised in New Zealand. Unauthorised drivers void insurance.

Payment & Bond

Full payment is required before or at pickup. A refundable security bond $200 may be held and returned within 14 days subject to vehicle inspection, unpaid fines, damage, or breaches.

Insurance & Liability

The renter selects an insurance option. Insurance does NOT cover reckless driving, alcohol/drug use, unauthorised drivers, off-road use, river crossings, or illegal activity. Breach of conditions makes the renter fully liable for all costs.

NZ Road & Winter Driving Rules

Vehicles must be used only on formed public roads. Snow chains must be used when required. 2WD vehicles may be unsuitable for alpine or snow conditions. Damage from ignoring safety warnings may result in full liability.

Accidents

In any accident, theft, or damage, the renter must notify Guided NZ immediately and contact NZ Police if required. Failure to report may void insurance.

Fines & Tolls

The renter is responsible for all fines, parking tickets, tolls, or penalties. Guided NZ may charge the renter the amount plus a NZD $25 administration fee.

Fuel Policy

Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level. Missing fuel may be charged plus service fee.

Return Condition & Late Return

Vehicle must be returned clean and on time. Late return incurs NZD $30 per hour (first 3 hours), thereafter full daily rate applies.

Loss of Personal Property

Guided NZ is NOT responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle at any time. Customers must remove all items before return. No liability accepted for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

Prohibited Uses

The vehicle must not be used for racing, illegal activity, passenger transport for hire (unless authorised), towing without permission, or off-road driving.

Termination

Guided NZ may terminate the rental and repossess the vehicle if terms are breached or the vehicle is used unlawfully.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Digital Signature

By signing electronically or physically, the renter confirms they understand and accept all rental conditions and financial responsibilities.
